Change and the 21st century learners

I agree with the author of the article “The 21 Century Learner“ that the role of the teacher has transformed in last few decades. Traditional teaching styles have phased out where teachers used to teach only text and theories on boards with white chalk or a marker. In 21’st century teacher’s needs to continuously update themself with new technologies, knowledge and ways to deliver this knowledge to students. One of the main goals at HCT is to continuously provide training to staff so that they are up to date with current tools and technology available in market.  In the article author mentioned difference between students and teachers which I don’t think is correct. Technology does not have effect on multitasking, picture base or collaborated learning it depends more on the nature person.

Authentic learning model is widely accepted among learners. It doesn’t only provide leaners knowledge and theories but also provide real world scenarios how to use this knowledge in real life. Students get more engage with such type of learning as they can see the use of theories. In my project after every lecture students have to do case studies which are based to real life scenarios. These case studies give clear idea to students how to use the acquired knowledge in particle life. I think in future most of the teaching will move to authentic learning models.
